Northwood got off to a flying start in this pre-season friendly away to Spartan South Midlands League Berkhamsted when Player of the Year Scott Raper gave them the lead in the seventh minute.

Rob Ursell added a second goal on 29 minutes and left-back Lee Grant netted a third six minutes later. Woods carried on the scoring after the break when Ben Alexander scored two minutes into the second period.

Ursell hit a screamer for the fifth in the 69th minute, and Oliver Hawkins headed number six on 76 minutes. Josh Chamberlain grabbed a consolation for the home side with four minutes left to play, but 6-1 was a fair reward for a good Northwood performance in which sixteen players enjoyed a run-out.

Eight further squad members are expected to play either at Kings Langley on Tuesday or at home to Harrow on Thursday as manager Gary Meakin continues to shape his side for the big kick-off on August 13th.
